I am asking everyone that uses and enjoys this site to help me in the best way that you can. image

It is important for the future of The Old Computer Dot Com that I list the site on as many other websites, forums, blogs and directories as possible. It is also important to list the various different sections on closly related websites. For example, to list the Nintendo SNES Roms section on SNES fan sites or dedicated SNES sites or list the Emulators Section on emulator forums/blogs.

Now you can see how much work is involved image in making links to sections from related sites as well as the more normal links to the main site. I already spend a lot of time adding content, uploading roms, correcting errors, responding to email and researching new sections as well as writing in the forums.

I am asking everyone that reads this to simply choose a section (Nintendo SNES for example) and then to try and get a good link from some other website/forum/blog to that section. Thats all image. If everyone just made one single link in, it would massivly help the traffic and ratings and therefore help me pay the huge hosting and bandwidth bills image that pop up every month. Instructions are provided for those not sure what to do.

Instructions to link back to The Old Computer Dot Com
---------------------------------------------------------
1. Choose the section you are going to get a link to.
2. Link from a website related to that section.
3. Copy the URL from your browser window of the section you are linking to.
4. Try and include some meaningfull text along with and around the link, something that describes well the purpose of the link. (see below)
5. Make the link text meaningful to the section you are linking to and if possible place it in the middle of your sentence or paragraph. (see below)

eaxmple.
-----------
Linking to : http://www.theoldcomputer.com/Libarary's/Emulation/snes/SuperNintendoRomsSummary.htm
Link from : A forum dedicated to the SNES

Link Paragraph :
I found a great site dedicated to retro videogames and old computer games. They have a Super Nintendo section that boasts every snes game available. You can download SNES ROMS for free and the speed is good, no forced voting or other crap. Check it out when you get a chance.

This is a good example because it explains what the link is for. It also uses SNES ROMS as the link words which is more accurate for the user when visiting the site.

---------------------------------

I hope this helps you make strong links for me. I thank you in advance image and hope you will all take 10 minutes to do this, I really really need the help.

Thanks
Hot Trout.
